American-Palestinian Teenager Released Following 270 Days in Israel's Detention

A Palestinian-American adolescent after completing 270 days in Israel's custody without charge has been freed.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 at the time of his arrest in February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where he was visiting while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.
American diplomatic officials said it welcomed the teenager's freedom.
Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.
Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.
In a statement, family spokesperson expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
The uncle, Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"At this moment, we are focused on getting Mohammed prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery following exposure to harsh conditions and brutal treatment throughout his detention."
US officials announced ongoing to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

A group of American legislators endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and the administration, urging greater action to release him.
Mohammed's parent, with four children operating an ice cream shop from Florida, previously claimed Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.
The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, learning information solely what had happened to him via legal paperwork.
The teenager remained absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.
It is also home to grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities and homicide.
